A stay-at-home defenseman, he will drop the gloves with anyone, plays with a grinding style, and fits perfectly into the Flames club mentality.

Tonight, Calgary multi-tasked. They won two points. They broke a potentially fatal losing skid. They knocked around their arch rivals in an assertive contest. Mostly though, they got together an all-around game as well as we’ve seen in a while.

The Phoenix net was home to the Flames puck five times tonight at the Jobing.com Arena, but Calgary built their victory on a 3-1 final score. It was an historic night for the Calgary Flames and two of their players. Captain Jarome Iginla posted three points and two goals, including his 40th of the season and his 364th as a Flame, tying Theoren Fleury for the franchise all-time goals-scored title. Veteran netminder Curtis Joseph made NHL history with his 448th career win to pass Terry Sawchuck for 4th on the all-time wins list as he made 16 saves to hold on for the win. Kristian Huselius, who has been caught in a goal-scoring drought for 18 games recorded three assists while playing an impactful but unselfish game.
